2008 Alternative Energy Symposium Keynote Speaker Confirmed

CHICAGO, IL  (August 25, 2008) – CAET is proud to announce that Mr. Val R. Jensen will be the keynote speaker for the 2008 Alternative Energy Symposium.

Mr. Jensen currently serves as the Vice President of Marketing & Environmental Programs for Commonwealth Edison. He is responsible for leading the implementation of various environmental programs and initiatives instigated by Com Ed, including the recently approved “Energy Efficiency Portfolio”, which is designed to rank Illinois as the second highest state in the country with regards to the amount of energy saved through voluntary customer usage reductions.  

Mr. Jensen is a nationally recognized expert in the field of energy efficiency, and he has been affiliated with some of the most progressive programs in the United States. In addition, he possesses many ties to the environmental community at large.   

Mr. Jensen has more than twenty years of experience with utility resources planning, energy efficiency, and renewable energy programs including serving as the Vice President for ICF Consulting. 

From 1994-1999, he worked for the U.S. Department of Energy, where from 1996-1999 he expertly directed the Chicago office and was directly responsible for the management of close to $100 million in grants and contracts awarded to various organizations involved with the expansion of new energy technologies. 

Mr. Jensen also spent eleven years at the Illinois Department of Energy as the Manager of Strategic Planning where he administered a statewide electric and natural gas integrated resource planning program.
